Round, smooth-bore barrel in 14 mm calibre. At the breech and around the silver front sight chiselled décor against a golden background, depicting the standing goddess of the hunt Diana amid mascarons and scrolling foliage. Lavishly cut lock with depictions of animals and mascarons. Full stock made from beautifully grained walnut with finely carved tendrils and rocailles. The stock with a crack near the lock, the end of the forestock is a replacement, one replacement above the trigger, small defects and repairs to the edges of the forestock. High-quality, chiselled iron furniture underlaid with gold and displaying hunting motifs. The openwork side plate with depiction of three hounds, on the trigger guard a lying stag. The butt cap showing hounds fighting a stag. The escutcheon has been removed and filled in with wood. Later wooden ramrod with horn tip. Length 135 cm.
An expertly restored shotgun in outstanding princely quality.
