Weit ausladende Parierstange, aufwendig floral geschnitten, geätzt und graviert, die Enden eingerollt, nochmals mittig geschnittene Ornamente. Angedeutete kurze Fingerbügel sowie symmetrische, balustergegliederte, durch sich überkreuzende Spangen gefüllte Parierringe, der quartseitige Parierring mit einem Daumenring. Breite 49 cm.
Sehr aufwendig gearbeitetes, formschönes Teil eines Bidenhänder-Gefäßes des einzigartigen Braunschweiger Typus.
Extended quillons with ornate floral chiselling, etching and engraving, the finials coiled, with additional chased ornaments at the centre. Indicated short finger rests and symmetrical, banded guard rings, the spaces filled with intersecting bars, the reverse guard ring with a thumb ring. Width 49 cm.Extremely elaborate, elegant component of a two-hand sword hilt of unequalled Brunswick type.
