One of a series of 10 original illustrations completed by Quentin Blake for a virtual production of Beauty and the Beast, which aired on BBC 2 for Christmas 2021 to benefit Comic Relief. Beauty and the Beast: A Comic Relief Pantomime for Christmas featured star turns from Lily James and Guz Khan. The large, joyful illustrations provided by Quentin Blake helped bring the panto to life for those watching at home and are now offered to benefit Comic Relief.

Artist's Resale Right ("Droit de Suite"). Artist's Resale Right Regulations 2006 apply to this lot, the buyer agrees to pay us an amount equal to the resale royalty provided for in those Regulations, and we undertake to the buyer to pay such amount to the artist's collection agent.
This lot has been donated to Comic Relief by Sir Quentin Blake prior to the sale and, accordingly, (if the lot is sold) 100% of the hammer price will be paid to Comic Relief, which is the operating name of Charity Projects, a charity registered in England and Wales with number 326568 and in Scotland with number SC039730. Christie’s has agreed to waive any vendor commission in respect of the sale of the lot; however, a buyer’s premium will still be charged in accordance with Section D of the applicable Conditions of Sale, which will be retained by Christie’s.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
