Lot 93 | A wheel lock rifle
Munich, 1st half of the 18th century,
Full stock made of walnut with rich inlays made of partly engraved and blackened bone.. Octagonal, slightly recessed barrel in the middle with a rifled bore. Set trigger. Lock with an internal wheel. Lock plate with a finely engraved depiction of a baroque society at the stag hunting, signed "I. G. DAX in München". Ramrod with bone tip. Smiths mark (Heer, Der neue Stöckel 1978, number 223, page 276). Minor damage. L 109 cm.

Johann Georg Dax ist als Büchsenmacher in München von 1714-43 nachgewiesen. Obwohl selbst Eisenschneider und Graveur, lässt er seine Waffen oft auch vom Münchner Hofgraveur Johann Christoph Stengl gravieren.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
