Reiternomadischer Säbel, Osteuropa, 12. - 13. Jhdt. (Kiptschaken, auch bekannt als "Kumanen" oder "Polovzer")
Leicht gekrümmte, schmale Eisenklinge von 90 cm Länge (ohne Griffangel), über den Großteil der Länge hin einschneidig, die letzten 16 cm zweischneidig. Die Klinge im oberen Teil 2,8 cm breit und sich erst in den unteren 25 cm kontinuierlich zur Spitze hin verjüngend. Der flache Klingenrücken im einschneidigen Teil ca. 6 mm breit. Um den obersten Teil der Klinge von der Schneide ausgehend ein 2,2 cm breites Blechband gebogen, das sich auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite kurz vor der Schneide auf 8 cm erweitert und eine um die Schneide gebogene Fehlschärfe der Klinge bildet. Direkt über dem Blechband geht am Klingenrücken die von der Schneide abgesetzte, unten 12 cm breite, sich nach oben verjüngende Griffangel von 7 cm Länge hervor. Auf dieser aufgeschoben eine in der Mitte ovale Parierstange, die seitlich in im Querschnitt viereckige, leicht nach unten gebogene und sich nach außen verdickende Flügel übergeht. In der Mitte der Griffangel ein Niet zur Befestigung des nicht mehr vorhandenen Griffs aus organischem Material. Oberfläche mit Korrosionsnarben. Insgesamt sehr gut erhaltener reiternomadischer Säbel des osteuropäischen Mittelalters.
