Pewter with a beautiful age patina. The slightly conical body mounted on a stepped stand. The lid with a sliding knob, the thumb rest in the shape of a mascaron. The volute handle with a female herm. Continuous relief decoration. Three cartouches with allegorical figures, "Patentia", "Solertia" and "Nonvi", arranged around the panels. The lid adorned with mascarons and putti. A Strasbourg city mark struck in the base, along with the master's mark of Isaac Faust, who worked there between 1628 and 1669. Next to an old inventory label (tr.) "Krahnast Collection". Height 18 cm, weight 1036 g. A rare Strasbourg tankard with relief decoration in excellent condition.
Isaac Faust modelled his work closely on Briot's designs. Owing to the similarity of the cartouches with the well-known Temperantia plate, this tankard is often referred to as the "Briot tankard". Another such tankard can be found in the Bertram collection.

Zinn mit schöner Alterspatina. Leicht konischer Korpus auf gestuftem Stand. Deckel mit Schiebenknauf, Drücker in Form eines Maskarons. Volutenhenkel mit weiblicher Herme. Umlaufend fein reliefierter Dekor. Auf der Wandung umlaufend drei Kartuschen mit allegorischen Figuren, bezeichnet "Patentia", "Solertia" und "Nonvi". Der Deckel mit Maskaronen und Putti dekoriert. Auf dem Boden geschlagene Stadtmarke von Straßburg mit Meistermarke des Isaac Faust, der dort von 1628 bis 1669 tätig war. Daneben altes Inventaretikett "Sammlung Krahnast". Höhe 18 cm, Gewicht 1036 g. Seltener Straßburger Reliefkrug in sehr gutem Zustand.
Isaac Faust arbeitete in enger Anlehnung an die Entwürfe Briots. Aufgrund der Ähnlichkeit der Kartuschen mit der bekannten Temperantia-Platte wird dieser Krug auch oft als "Briotkrug" bezeichnet. Ein weiteres Exemplar befindet sich in der Sammlung Bertram.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
