The Flight into Egypt: Crossing a Brook, 1654, etching on fine laid paper, signed and dated Rembrandt. f. 1654 in the plate, 9,3 x 14,4 cm, partly with tiny margins, partly trimmed along platemarks, Bartsch 55, White-Boon 55, New Hollstein 277, mounted, unframed, ( Sch )

Splendid early impression of the only state; the etching in the foreground still very distinct and the scratch marks under the left eye of Mary still visible – characteristics of early prints. The paper with a thinned spot in the lower left corner, otherwise in good condition.
