Rembrandt van Rijn, Harmensz (1606 Leiden - Amsterdam 1669). Selbstbildnis mit Pelzmütze. Original-Radierung 1631. Im Oberrand der Pl. monogrammiert "RHL" und datiert Blgr. 6,6 x 6,1 cm, Plattengrösse 6,3 x 5,7 cm. Mit schmalem Rand um die Plattenkante.
Bartsch 16. White/Boon 16. New Holstein 80. - Rembrandts frühes Selbstbildnis zeigt ihn in einem mit Pelz besetzten Mantel u. mit Pelzmütze auf dem Kopf. Die Mütze hat Rembrandt später ergänzt, denn unter ihr ist deutlich das bereits ausgearbeitete Kopfhaar zu sehen. - Stellenweise etwas schwacher Abdruck, sehr schwacher Braunfl. im re. weißen Randbereich, an der rechten Schulter unten eine leichte nicht sichtbare Papierausdünnung. Insgesamt guter Druck. - Original etching, monogrammed "RHL". Very early self portrait on hand made paper, with small border around the plate edge. - Somewhat faint impression, very faint brown stain in the right white margin area, a slight thinning of paper on the right shoulder below. Overall good print.
