5 meditierende Gottheiten, denen je ein Tier zugeordnet ist - Hahn, Schlange, Schildkröte, Kuh/Rind, Tiger - schliessen das Bild nach oben ab. Buddha soll der Legende nach sechs Jahre mit fünf Asketen in völliger Enthaltsamkeit verbracht haben, bis er seine Askese brach, als ihm Sujata eine Schüssel mit Milchreis anbot. Sujata hielt Buddha für einen Baumgeist, von dem sie sich versprach, er könne ihr die lang ersehnte Fruchtbarkeit schenken. Um ihre Dankbarkeit über sein Erscheinen auszudrücken, reichte sie ihm den Milchreis. Da dieser zur Auffassung gelangt war, dass ihn das Fasten nur töten, aber nicht erleuchten würde, nahm er die Gabe an. Rechts eine Szene vor dem Stupa mit Trauerbändern, die auf Buddhas Tod verweisen. Ähnlich dem tibetischen Thangka. - Mit Farbverlusten, knittrig.
