Quadratische Marmorplatte (Maße 23 x 23 x 6,5) mit vierzeiliger Inschrift. Die ersten drei Zeilen in Latein: "[.]ATINA POSITA / EST CVM NEPOTE / M SVVM NAONEM". Darunter in vierter Zeile mittig Menora, flankiert von zwei hebräischen Schriftzügen. Oberfläche mit Sinterablagerungen. Inschrift bis auf den ersten Buchstaben des Namens gut lesbar. Interessantes Zeugnis jüdischer Kultur in den römischen Provinzen.
Provenienz: Aus dem Lagerbestand einer Münchner Galerie, erworben 1999 aus einer französischen Privatsammlung.
A Roman gravestone with menorah and Jewish inscription, 3rd - 4th century A.D.
Square marble slab (dimensions 23 x 23 x 6.5) with four-line inscription. The first three lines in Latin: "[.]ATINA POSITA / EST CVM NEPOTE / M SVVM NAONEM". Below, in the fourth line, menorah in the centre, flanked by two Hebrew inscriptions. Surface with sinter deposits. Inscription well readable except for the first letter of the name. Interesting evidence of Jewish culture in the Roman provinces.
Provenance: From the stock of a Munich gallery, acquired in 1999 from a French private collection.

Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
