Early 16th century edition of the famous work by Sallust published in elegant woodcut letters and initials by Gueynard in Lyon.

4to (247 x 166mm). Title printed in red and black with a woodcut vignette of the author reading his book with Beroaldo and Ascensio taking notes on the sides, elegant woodcut initials on title and in text (marginal wormhole to the first two leaves, some browning, foxing and light staining). Modern binding backed in 18th-century calf (some wear and restorations); preserved in a modern decorated paper case.
