Kal. .45Auto, Nr. 39, blanker Lauf. Länge 5". Achtschüssig. Auf der Visierschiene des Verschlusses gemarkt mit "Cal.45", links davon seitlich "Savage Arms Corp. Utica N.Y. U.S.A.". Nichtbeschussbescheinigung. Vollständige Brünierung von Verschluss, Griffstück und Magazin. Abzug buntgehärtet. Lackierte Holzgriffschalen mit Fischhaut. Auf der linken Griffschale oben eingeprägt "39". Magazin. Fangring. Die Pistole mit der Nummer 39 wurde an das U.S. Military Troop I, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, stationiert in Fort Wingate, zur Erprobung von März 1909 bis Februar 1910 und vom Juli 1910 bis März 1911 ausgegeben. Anschließend wurden die Waffen privat verkauft, wobei sie vorher von der Savage Corp. instandgesetzt, überarbeitet und neu brüniert wurden. Bei dieser Gelegenheit wurde die Firmierung auf der Laufschiene entfernt und nur die Kaliberbezeichnung blieb stehen. Die Firmierung wurde neu links neben der Laufschiene angebracht. Cal. .45Auto, SN. 39, barrel length 5". Bright bore. Eight shots. The slide rib marked "Cal.45", to its left "Savage Arms Corp. Utica N.Y. U.S.A.". Finish of receiver, slid and magazine > 99%. Trigger colour-case hardened. The wooden grips varnished and checkered, the left one marked "39". Magazine, lanyard loop.
Pistol No. 39 was supplied to the U.S. Military Troop I, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, stationed in Fort Wingate, for testing. These trials were held between March of 1909 and February of 1910, and from July 1910 to March of 1911. Subsequently the trial guns were sold off after a complete rework (repair and refinishing) by Savage, at which occasion the company markings on the slide rib were ground off and reapplied on the left side. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
