Scarce Christy Mathewson 1913-14 World Tour Souvenir Pennant

Exceedingly rare original souvenir pennant issued in promotion of the 1913-14 World Tour of the Chicago White Sox and New York Giants. The tour was organized by Charles Comiskey and John McGraw, with marked significance as the first time that American baseball was played by its star players on foreign soil. The game's greatest stars took part, most notably Christy Mathewson, who is memorialized on the offered pennant.

Full size red felt pennant displaying titling for both teams and the tour. Central graphic of Mathewson in polychrome with name printed underneath. Pennant measures 30" long with slight portion of tip missing and few pinholes at top white border piece. Archivally framed: EX
