Approx 77mm long, 15.5 g, Gold/enamel, telescopically extendable, signed, handle, enameled, very fine art Nouveau painting with putti motif and rose petals, very nice state of preservation, rare. James Henderson Watherston and his son Edward James Watherston joined together in 1864, after they were come out of the previous partnership with John Brogden. As a manufacturer of fine gold wrought objects, their manufacture was performed in the 12 Pall Mall East in London. They made a wide range of beautiful jewels, including diamond and enamel pendants. She exhibited at the Paris world exhibition of 1867, and were especially for the quality and variety of its Gold known. By 1890, they were also called diamonds and pearls dealers and silversmiths. In 1902 they were forced to leave their Pall Mall address in order to reduce the fire risk to the adjacent National Gallery. They moved to Vigo Street number 6 Regent Street, from where they continued the business up to the closure of 1910/11.
