Depot piece. The front and back section made of black lacquered sheet steel (partially abraded, rough in places due to age), the edges trimmed in red woollen cord. The nickel-silver trophy of the breast shield introduced in 1912 screw-mounted on the breast. The brass scale bands with leather underlay and original belt with a brass pin buckle. Lined in fine, unbleached linen, both front and back sections with beautiful depot issue stamps "GdC, 1897, 3 E" and wearer's label stitched into the lining "Garde du Corps Holst 3. Esk. Regt. G. d.
