Mittig leicht eingezogener achtkantiger Lauf mit siebenfach gezogener Seele im Kaliber 15,5 mm. Eingeschobene Visierung aus Messing und Eisen. Über der Kammer sauber geschlagene Marke "Dörries" unter Jagdhorn und Krone. Schloss mit innenliegendem Rad, die Schlossplatte mit fein gravierter jagdlicher Szene. Am oberen Rand signiert "Dörries à Dresde". Abzug mit Stecher. Leicht verschnittene Vollschäftung aus Nussbaumholz mit glatten Einlagen aus poliertem Bein. Schaftkappe aus dunklem Horn, eiserner Harfen-Abzugsbügel. Originaler hölzerner Ladestock mit Beindopper und eiserner Gewindehülse. Länge 117 cm.
Schöne barocke Radschlossbüchse in außergewöhnlich gutem Erhaltungszustand.
Johann Christoph Dörries, nachgewiesen von 1730 bis 1761, war in Dresden und Warschau als Büchsenmacher tätig. Arbeitete 1730-52 für den König von Polen.

A heavy hunting wheellock rifle by Doerries of Dresden, circa 1740
The octagonal barrel slightly constricted in the middle with seven-groove rifled bore in 15.5 mm calibre. Dovetailed brass and iron sights. A "Dörries" mark perfectly struck at the breech below a hunting horn and crown. The lock with internal wheel, the lock plate delicately engraved with a hunting scene. Signed "Dörries à Dresde" on the upper edge. Set trigger. The slightly carved full stock in walnut with smooth inlays of polished bone. The butt plate made of dark horn, iron harp trigger guard. Original wooden ramrod with bone tip and threaded iron sleeve. Length 117 cm. Exquisite baroque wheellock rifle in exceptionally good condition.
Johann Christoph Dörries is documented as a gunsmith in Dresden and Warsaw between 1730 and 1761. He worked for the King of Poland from 1730-52.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
