SEHR FEINE IKONE MIT DER GOTTESMUTTER 'UNVERBRENNBARER DORNBUSCH' MIT VERMEIL-OKLAD Russland, Palech, Anfang 19. Jahrhundert (Ikone), Russland, Moskau, Igor Antipow Antipiew, 1837 (Oklad) Laubholz-Einzeltafel mit zwei profilierten Rückseiten-Sponki. Flaches Kowtscheg, Lewkas, Eitempera, partielle Vergoldung. 36,5 x 30,5 cm. Oklad aus fein getriebenem und graviertem Silber punziert mit Stadtmarke, Beschaumeisterzeichen, Feingehalt '84' und Meistermarke 'EA'. Im Zentrum der Komposition die halbfigurige Gottesmutter vor einer Aureole auf einem blauen Stern mit vier Zacken. Den segnenden Christus hält sie auf ihrem linken Arm. In ihrer rechten Hand hält sie eine Leiter, die auf Jakobs Traum verweist. Auf ihrer Brust erscheint Christus als Erlöser mit Fels und Burg. Sie flankieren Engel, die verschiedene Attribute halten. Auf den Spitzen des darunterliegenden, vierzackigen Sterns mit rotem Fond erscheint der Tetramorph. Dahinter auf einem passig geschweiftem Rundmedaillon Darstellung acht weiterer Engel mit Attributen, die unterschiedliche Naturkräfte symbolisieren. In den inneren Ecken erscheinen vier Rundmedaillons mit der Darstellung von Propheten, darunter David und Salomon. In den vier äußeren Ecken werden die vier Visionen von Moses, Jesaja, Jakobs und Hesekiels aus dem Alten Testament gezeigt. Am oberen Bildrand erscheint der thronende Gott Sabaoth, die Rechte im Segensgestus erhoben haltend. Am unteren Rand geschweiftes Bildfeld mit der Wiedergabe der 'Wurzel Jesse'. Auf dem Rand reihen sich zehn Propheten des Alten Testaments mit geöffneten Schriftrollen. Äußerst feine Malerei. Individualisierte Gestaltung der Gesichter durch gezielt gesetzte Hochlichter und Schattierungen in Brauntönen. Die Gewänder in kontrastierendem Rot und Blau. Dieses Thema byzantinischen Ursprungs symbolisiert die jungfräuliche Unbeflecktheit der Gottesmutter. Im 18. Jahrhundert erfreute sich dieses Thema großer Beliebtheit und galt in dieser Zeit als Fürbittehilfe gegen Feuergefahr. Inhaltlich spannt die Darstellung dieses Themas einen Bogen der Heilsgeschichte von Moses bis zur Apokalypse und zum Jüngsten Gericht. Hinter den vier feurigen Zacken mit den apokalyptischen Wesen, die mit den vier Evangelisten in Verbindung gebracht werden, befinden sich Engel des Windes, des Sturmes, des Regens und des Feuers. In der Mitte ist Christus, der von den Engeln gleichzeitig als Gekreuzigter, als König und als Emmanuel verehrt wird. Die dargestellten Engel sind instrumentalisierte göttliche Kräfte, sie sind als Naturgewalten und Personifikationen christlicher Tugenden zu verstehen. Punktuelle Retuschen.
