An exquisite Italian marble relief with a depiction of a saint, late 17th century
Oval, delicately carved, detailed relief in Carrara marble, depicting St. Francis in adoration with Jesus as a young boy. Jesus on a stylised band of clouds, holding a cross in his right hand. St. Francis kneels on an altar step before a small rococo table. The table bearing the opened Holy Scripture and flowers. In a modern frame and cloth-covered, wooden mount. Slight damage due to age. Knocks in the marble. The right hand of St. Francis also knocked. Parts of the lower border have been lost. Two visible cracks, both restored. Dimensions of the frame 44 x 37.5 cm and the relief 28.5 x 21.5 cm.

Ovales, fein gearbeitetes sowie detailliertes Relief in Carrara-Marmor mit der Darstellung des adorierenden heiligen Franziskus mit Jesusknaben. Dieser auf einem stilisierten Wolkenband und in der rechten Hand ein Kreuz haltend. Franziskus auf einer Altartreppe vor einem Rokoko-Tischchen kniend. Darauf die aufgeschlagene Heilige Schrift und Blumen. Neuzeitlicher Rahmen sowie stoffbezogene Holzmontur. Leichte Altersschäden. Marmor bestoßen. Die rechte Hand des Franziskus ebenfalls bestoßen. Im unteren Bereich die Umrandung teilweise verlustig. Zwei sichtbare Brüche, diese restauriert. Rahmen 44 x 37,5 cm. Relief 28,5 x 21,5 cm.
