Das anmutige Pferd so modelliert, als würde es vorwärts schreiten, mit erhobenem Kopf und geöffnetem Maul, das Zahnreihen unter aufgeworfenen Nüstern und gewölbten Augen zeigt, die Ohren aufmerksam gespitzt, das linke Vorderbein und das linke Hinterbein gestreckt, mit kurzem, aufrechtem Schweif, Spuren von rotem Pigment an einigen Stellen sichtbar.
Aus einer alten süddeutschen Privatsammlung, erworben im September 2000 bei Marc Richards, Los Angeles - TL-Analyse vom 20. Juli 2000 von Oxford Authentication Ltd (C100u27) bestätigt die Datierung

Extrem große tänzelnde Pferde dieses Typs stammen vermutlich aus der Provinz Sichuan und können mit anderen ausgegrabenen Exemplaren dieses Typs verglichen werden, siehe ein kleineres Exemplar aus einem der Leshan-Felsengräber in Sichuan, veröffentlicht in Zhongguo Wenwu Jinghua Daquan. Taoci Juan, Taipei, 1993, Nr. 375. Stilistisch ist diese Gruppe von Pferden mit der berühmten Gruppe von großen bronzenen "fliegenden Pferden" verwandt, die 1969 in Gansu ausgegraben wurden, siehe W. Watson, The Genius of China, London, 1973, Katalog Nr. 222, wo es heißt, dass diese Rasse großer Pferde zu Beginn des ersten Jahrhunderts v. Chr. aus Zentralasien eingeführt wurde - Rest.
