A VERY RARE AND FINE TRIPTYCH SHOWING THE DORMITION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD Russian, Moscow, Imperial Stroganov School of Applied Arts, 1907-1917 Brass, chased and engraved, enamelled in blue, white and yellow. Marked 'I.S.U.' in Cyrillic with Imperial warrant. Minor losses. 24.2 x 38 cm (extended). The school of Stroganov was founded in Moscow by count Sergey Grigoryevich Stroganov in 1825 and officially became the Imperial Institute Stroganov for the Industrial Arts in 1901 when it was placed under the patronage of the sister of the empress, the grand duchess Elizabeth (1864-1918). The metal workshop of the Institute opened its doors in 1902, the students followed, then a course of 8 years and were encouraged to create their own style in addition to copying the works of renowned.

Punziert mit Marke der Stroganow-Schule 'I.S.U.' in Kyrillisch mit Hoflieferantenzeichen. In den Jahren 1907 bis 1917 blühte die Stroganow-Schule in Moskau als ein Zentrum kreativer Exzellenz auf. Gegründet von Graf Sergey Grigoryevich Stroganov im Jahre 1825, entwickelte sich die Schule in dieser Zeit zu einem bedeutenden künstlerischen und handwerklichen Institut. Unter der Patronage von Großherzogin Elisabeth (1864-1918), der Schwester der Kaiserin, erlebte die Schule einen kulturellen Aufschwung. Min. Fehlstellen.
