Längliche, lanzettblattförmig gestaltete Schale mit reliefplastisch ausgeformtem Chamäleon und Olivenzweigen. Pâte-de-verre in gelb bis dunkelgrün verlaufenden Tönen und dunkleren Einschlüssen, formgeschmolzen. Entw. Amalric Walter für Daum Frères, um 1910. Sign. "Daum Nancy" in Verbindung mit Lothringer Kreuz. H. 8 cm; L. 27 cm.
Das gleiche Modell gibt es auch in späterer Ausführung mit der Signatur von Amalric Walter und seinem Mitarbeiter Henri Bergé. Walter gehört zu den bedeutendsten Künstlern des Jugendstils und Art Déco, der sich mit der 1903 von ihm selbst entwickelten Pâte-de-verre-Technik befasste. 1904-1914 schuf er als Angestellter in der Glasmanufaktur Daum Frères ca. 100 Modelle, 1910 erhielt er auf der Weltausstellung in Brüssel eine Goldmedaille. 1919 machte sich Walter selbstständig, seine exklusiven Objekte wurden u. a. 1925 auf der legendären Ausstellung "Exposition internationale des Arts Décoratifs et industriels modernes" in Paris gezeigt.
