AN IMPORTANT GILT-COPPER GROUP OF INDRA AND INDRANI - Nepal, dated 1659 - Indra is majestically seated in rajalilasana on a separate embossed lotus base with his right hand in abhayamudra while his left is embracing his consort Indrani seated on his left upper leg, he is clad in a dhoti, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched-shaped eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, horizontal urna, smiling lips, elongated earlobes with ear ornaments, the hair combed in a chignon secured with a tiara, Indrani is showing as well the abhayamudra with her left hand and with her right she is embracing Indra, wearing sari, bejewelled, her face with serene expression and her hair coiffed in a chignon set with a tiara to the front, the base with lengthy inscription. - From the collection of Dr. Georg-Friedrich Zeileis, acquired through Galerie Asbboth Vienna, at Lempertz Cologne, 31.5.1991. Indra sitzt majestätisch in rajalilasana auf einem separatem Lotussockel, die rechte Hand in abhayamudra, während die linke seine auf dem linken Oberschenkel sitzende Gemahlin Indrani umarmt. Er trägt einen Dhoti und Juwelen. Sein Gesicht zeigt einen heiteren Ausdruck mit niedergeschlagenen Augen unter bogenförmigen Augenbrauen, die in den Nasensteg übergehen, horizontale urna, lächelnde Lippen, verlängerte Ohrläppchen mit Ohrschmuck, das Haar zu einem Dutt gekämmt und mit einem Diadem gesichert. Indrani zeigt mit der linken Hand ebenfalls das abhayamudra und mit der rechten Hand umarmt sie Indra, sie trägt einen Sari, mit Juwelen besetzt, ihr Gesicht zeigt einen heiteren Ausdruck und ihr Haar ist zu einem Dutt mit einem Diadem frisiert. Der Sockel mit langer Inschrift.
