China. Datiert auf den 1. März 1912 und betitelTiefe: "Revolution in Peking". Einige der Fotos von S.J. Betines & Co., Fotostudio nahe der Deutschen Gesandtschaft.

Album mit 62 Fotos, von Hand nummerierte Papierabzüge in Schwarzweiß, auf Karton geklebt. Die Datierung bezieht sich auf den Tag nach dem Aufstand der Nördlichen Militaristen (Beiyang Junfa), die damit erzwingen wollten, dass Yuan Shikai sein Amt als provisiorischer Präsident in Peking und nicht in Nanjing antreten sollte. Am Abend des 29. Februar 1912 war es zu Plünderungen in Geschäften und Banken gekommen und ausländische Truppen marschierten zum Schutz in das sog. Legation Quarter.

Foto Nr. 3: Einer der Zugänge in die Dongjiaomin Xiang (East Legation Street) mit den Gebäuden der Gesandtschaften, im Hintergrund das Chongwen-Stadttor. Nr. 5: Barrikade beim Fuwen-Tor und das Ruijin-Gebäude. Nr. 8-16: Einzug der ausländischen Truppen. Nr. 17-35: Getötete Plünderer und Zerstörungen. Nr. 36: Yuan Shikai und die Nanjing-Regierungsdelegation mit ihrem Leiter, Cai Yuanpei. Nr. 61: Yuan Shikai.

Einige Fotos sind identisch mit jenen in den Sammlungen Oliver Heywood Hulme und Cooper William. Ca. 26 x 32cm, Fotos jeweils ca. 8 x 14cm. Zustand B.
