In einem rechteckigen Schaukasten aus Holz, die schauseitige Rahmenleiste fein geschnitzt und goldgefasst. Vielfigurige Szene der Geburt Christi hinter Glas. Unter einem zentralen Baldachin mit Engelsgloriole, den Stall darstellend, stehen Maria und Josef neben dem Jesuskind. Linker Hand die Heiligen Drei Könige, auf der rechten Seite diverse Hirten und Bauern. Im Hintergrund Hirte mit seiner Schafsherde, Bauernhäuser und Landschaft. Die Figuren aus Wachs gearbeitet und mit Gewändern aus feinem Stoff bekleidet. Weitere Materialien sind Papiermache, Holz, Stroh, Glasperlen, Papier und Folie. Insgesamt guter Erhaltungszustand mit Altersspuren.
Aus einer bedeutenden bayerischen Sammlung, zwischen den 1950er und 1980er Jahren gesammelt.

Nancy war im 18. Jahrhundert bekannt für seine "Cires habillées" (übersetzt "bekleidete Wachsfiguren"). Die Andachtsbilder aus Wachs und Stoff waren sehr beliebt. Wachsfiguren werden in ausgekleideten Pappschachteln oder Holzkästen in Szene gesetzt, die mit Muscheln, Perlen, Glaswaren und verschiedenen Materialien verziert sind. Die religiösen, aber auch weltlichen Figuren werden entweder als Relief oder als Rundplastik behandelt. Die Werke waren zunächst klein und für den Transport gedacht, wurden aber immer größer und vielfiguriger. Das Atelier der Frères Guillot (Nicolas und Francois) war das bekannteste unter den Wachskünstlern, zuvor wurden diese religiösen Wachsfiguren in Klöstern von Nonnen gefertigt.
