A rare German liturgical book rest, 17th century
Rectangular, at the bottom edged and riveted iron construction on four semi-circular, lead-filled feet. On the reverse an eagle with spread wings perched on a dowel, composed of several pieces and chased in high relief. Partially rusty, the lower section with two repairs. Height 53 cm.

Rechteckige, unterseitig gewinkelte und vernietete Eisenkonstruktion auf vier halbrunden, bleigefüllten Füßen. Auf der Rückseite mehrteilig und halbplastisch getriebener, auf einer runden Stange sitzender Adler mit ausgebreiteten Schwingen. Teile etwas flugrostig, im unteren Bereich zwei Reparaturstellen. Höhe 53 cm.
