Four compartments arranged in the form of round Nockläufe with band breakdown and Canon segmented mouths. Smooth souls in calibre 16 mm. The width of the chamber block and the barrel approaches numbered "1-4", on the bottom hit the London acceptance brands. Engraved frame with a Central valve, battery with triple perforated pan. The side engraved signature "Stanton - London". Handle made of walnut wood with fine silver wire inlays (missing parts), silver knob cap with a mask. Length 31 cm. Early specimen of a volley gun, with all four legs at the same time were shot down. This rare gun type was used in order to allow individuals to defend themselves against larger groups or to keep them in check. These guns were, inter alia, in the case of marine officers popular to on Board against mutinous sailors to proceed. Jonathan Stanton, proven as gunsmith in London from 1748 to 1767. Condition: II -
