Deutschland. Stuttgart. Um 1800. Silber, gest. mit Punze des Gehäusemachers CFR und Nr. 2574. Glattes Gehäuse in offener Form. Weißes Emailzifferblatt mit arabischen Stunden und Minuten, unabhängiger, zentraler Sekunde und goldenen Zeigern in Ajour. Vergoldetes Vollplatinenwerk mit einem Federhaus, Schlüsselaufzug, Zylinderhemmung und fünfarmiger Messingunruh. Gew. ca. 112,42 g. D. ca. 53 mm.
Christoph Matthäus Hahn war der Sohn von Philipp Matthäus Hahn (1739 Scharnhausen - 1790 Leinfelden-Echterdingen). Zunächst arbeitete er in der väterlichen Werkstatt, später als "Hofmechanikus" zusammen mit seinem Bruder Christian Gottfried Hahn (geb. 1769 in Onstmettingen) in der Firma "Gebrüder Hahn" in Stuttgart. Besonders bekannt ist er für seine Rechenmaschinen, die er zuerst gemeinsam mit seinem Vater und dann nach dessen Tod in eigener Verantwortung herstellte. Diese Rechenmaschinen gelten als die Vorläufer moderner Computer. Neben diesen frühen Rechnern stellte Christoph, wie sein Vater auch, einige Kalenderuhren und Kleinuhren her, von denen heute nur noch einige wenige existieren, u.a. im Britischen Museum, im Museum von La Chaux-de-Fonds MIH und im früheren Time Museum in Rockford (USA). Im Jahr 1790 erhielt Christoph Matthäus Hahn die Stelle als Hofmechaniker zu Stuttgart. Nach seinem Tod wurde seine Werkstatt von August Bacher übernommen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
