Diese kleine Skuptur gehört zu den seltenen, rundplastisch ausgeformten Exemplaren von Schmuckanhängern der Hungaan, im Gegensatz zu den im allgemeinen flach gestalteten Schnitzarbeiten. Die Hände sind an den Wangen angelegt. Dieser Typus von Anhänger wurde um den Hals getragen. Über die genaue Funktion gibt es unterschiedliche Ansichten. Es könnte sich um ein Fruchtbarkeitssymbol handeln oder die Figuren könnten auch in Zusammenhang mit dem Ahnenkult stehen. Gewicht 92,59 gr.
Deutsche Privatsammlung. Nach Angaben des Besitzers stammt die Figur aus dem Nachlass des luxemburgischen Botschafters, Herrn Hugues Le Gallais (1896-1964), der in den Jahren 1940-1958 in den USA tätig war und den Anhänger als Staatsgeschenk bekam. Der Anhänger wurde von seinem Nachkommen Edmund Reverchon 2012 erworben. Eine ähnliche Figur befindet sich wohl im Rietberg Museum Zürich, Objekt Nr. ao-0017415-001. - Das Zertifikat des DSEF German Gem Lab., 16.05.2023 bestätigt das Material Flusspferd-Elfenbein. - Schöne Patina, feiner Materialriss, im Bereich der Arme, am Hals und dem oberen Rand des Kopfes rest.
