Lot 81 | Seltener Becher mit biblischer Darstellung
Teilvergoldet. Über flachem, von einem Stabfries umzogenen Rand sich stark konisch erweiternder Korpus mit abgesetztem, von einem schmalen Wellenband gerahmten Rand, undeutlich bez "Gustav Waseliev" sowie dat. 1777. Hochreliefplastisch gearbeitete Wandung mit Darstellung des Gleichnisses von den Arbeitern im Weinberg. Innen vergoldet. Restaurierung.; Gest., Stadtmarke, Meister Johan Grönblad (1729-1760). Gewicht ca. 410 g. H. 18 cm.
Die Stadt Wyborg liegt zwischen St. Petersburg und der finnischen Landesgrenze. Ursprünglich von den Schweden gegründet, gehörte Wyborg ab 1710 zum Russischen Reich und ab 1812 zu Finnland (Viipuri) bevor sie nach 1940 in die Sowjetunion eingegliedert wurde. Aufgrund dieser wechselvollen Geschichte, setzte sich die Bevölkerung aus Finnen, Dänen, Deutschen und Russen zusammen. Vorliegender Becher ist in seiner Formgebung ein typisches Beispiel für die finnische Silberschmiedekunst.
