La British Library conserve un autre volume, lui relié en maroquin rouge aux armes de l’université d’Oxford, faisant usage du même fer héraldique, mais avec une dentelle différente, qui incorpore néanmoins les mêmes couronnes (voir cote 65e14). L’exemplaire est décrit comme « a presentation copy from the University in 1775 » sans que l’on sache à qui il était destiné.

Une note manuscrite en tête du volume indique que l’exemplaire était à l’origine destiné à la reine Caroline-Mathilde de Grande-Bretagne (1751-1775). Il serait ensuite passé à Frédéric de Coninck (1740-1811), riche armateur danois, directeur de la Compagnie des Indes orientales du Danemark, ainsi que conseiller d'État. Il aurait légué à sa mort l’exemplaire à sa fille Marie Henriette de Coninck, alors veuve Duntzfelt, qui rédige et signe cette première note de provenance, en 1840. Cette note est authentifiée par Jean Antoine Raffard , pasteur de l’église réformée de Copenhague entre 1822 et 1851.
6 vol. in-4 (310 x 235 mm). Seconde édition, la première ayant paru en 1744. Illustrée de 39 gravures d’après Hayman dont un frontispice et 2 autres gravures représentant différents portraits de Shakespeare par et d’après Gravelot (brunissures aux planches et reports de ces dernières).
Reliure de l’époque : maroquin rouge, grandes armes de l’Université d’Oxford au centre des plats, large bordure aux petits fers dorés en encadrement des plats, dos à nerfs, et caissons ornés, gardes de papier dominoté, roulettes dorées d’encadrement, tranches dorées (légers frottements, griffures superficielles sur les plats).
Provenance : [d’après le feuillet manuscrit, en tête de volume : Caroline-Mathilde de Grande-Bretagne, reine consort de Danemark et de Norvège (1751-1772) – Frédéric de Coninck (1740-1811) – sa fille, Marie Henriette de Coninck, alors veuve Duntzfelt (1774-1843)] – Alexis de Redé (ex-libris).
A presentation copy copy in a very fine binding with the arms of Oxford University. A manuscript note at the beginning of the volume states that the copy was to be gifted to Queen Caroline-Mathilde of Great Britain (1751-1775).

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. After confirming your email address, enter your personal information in your user profile, such as your first name, last name, and mail address. Choose a lot from the upcoming auction and the maximum amount you want to place on it. After confirmation of your choice, we will send your application by e-mail to the appropriate auction house. If the auction house accepts a request, it will participate in the auction. You can view the current status of a bid at any time in your personal account in the "Bids" section.
Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
