Silberne Fuchsschwanzkette, deren Enden in auf der Oberseite fein ausgearbeitete Tierköpfe auslaufen. Die Tierköpfe mit Filigran und Granulation auf gewölbtem Blech über flacher Unterseite im sogenannten Mammenstil ausgearbeitet. Durch Löcher auf Höhe der Mäuler ein Drahtring geführt, dessen Enden zwischen den Tierköpfen von einer Drahtspirale umwickelt sind. Der Thorshammer oben mit einem stilisierten, halbkugeligen Gesicht versehen, durch das der Drahtring geführt ist. Die Augen mit Spiralen aus Filigran, die Nase durch vertikalen Filigrandraht dargestellt. Stirn und Scheitel mit Granalien bedeckt. Die flache Unterseite nach innen eingedrückt, die leicht abgeschrägten Seiten mit zwei Reihen Filigrankringeln verziert. Die Oberseite mit Spiralen aus Filigran verziert, die Zwischenräume mit Granalien aufgefüllt. Abnutzungsspuren auf Kanten und exponierten Stellen, vereinzelt Kratzer und feine Risse. Sonst ausgezeichneter Erhaltungszustand. Länge der Fuchsschwanzkette inklusive der Tierköpfe knapp 60 cm. Länge des Thorshammers 4 cm. Länge der geschlossenen, ausgelegten Kette ca. 34 cm.

A silver necklace with animal head ends and Thor's hammer in Mammen style, 10th century
Silver foxtail necklace, the ends of which end in animal heads finely worked on the upper side. The animal heads worked out with filigree and granulation on curved sheet metal over a flat underside in the so-called Mammen style. A wire ring passed through holes at the level of the mouths, the ends of which are wrapped by a wire spiral between the animal heads. The Thor's hammer has a stylised, hemispherical face at the top, through which the wire ring is passed. The eyes with spirals of filigree, the nose represented by vertical filigree wire. Forehead and crown covered with granules. The flat underside depressed inwards, the slightly bevelled sides decorated with two rows of filigree curls. The upper side decorated with spirals of filigree, the spaces in between filled with granules. Signs of wear on edges and exposed areas, scattered scratches and fine cracks. Otherwise in excellent condition. Length of the foxtail chain including the animal heads just under 60 cm. Length of the Thor's hammer 4 cm. Length of the closed, laid out chain approx. 34 cm.
