Leicht gekrümmte Klinge, beidseitig mit zwei Hohlkehlen, die rückennahen Hohlkehlen nochmals aufwendig durch je drei Züge gegliedert, im unteren Drittel mit ornamentalen Ätzungen dekoriert, Klinge gereinigt, Ätzungen leicht verputzt. Bügelgefäß aus Silber mit gestuften schlanken Mitteleisen, Hilze beledert und mit einer Niete sowie einem Loch zur Befestigung eines Faustriemens versehen, silberner Griffrücken mit Rocaillemuster dekoriert. Scheide mit beriebenem grünen Samt bezogen, silberne Beschläge mit feinem Rocailledekor. Auf der Parierstange und dem Ortblech jeweils Sammlungsnummer. Länge 99 cm.

A presumably French silver-mounted sabre for hussar officers, circa 1750
Slightly curved blade with double fullers on both sides, the fullers close to the back elaborately divided into three grooves each, the lower third decorated with ornamental etchings, blade cleaned, etchings slightly rubbed. Silver knuckle-bow hilt with stepped slender languet, leather-covered grip with one rivet and a hole for the attachment of a lanyard, silver back of the grip decorated with rocaille patterns. Scabbard covered with rubbed green velvet, silver fittings decorated with fine rocaille ornaments. The quillons and the chape with collection number. Length 99 cm.
Beautifully shaped and excellently crafted edged weapon.
