Lot 3373 | Silberner Ringkragen für Offiziere von Sachsen-Polen (1697 - 1706 und 1709 - 1763), 1. Hälfte 18. Jhdt.
Ringkragen aus Silber mit umgebördeltem, gekehltem und mit feinem Riffelmuster versehenem Rand und zwei Befestigungslöchern. Vorderseitig das feuervergoldete, fein getriebene und ziselierte Wappen des Königs von Polen, Großherzogs von Litauen und Kurfürsten von Sachsen. Rs. bräunlich patiniert, unter den Befestigungslöchern jeweils mit Meistermarke "HS" gepunzt, Auflage mit Splinten(!) befestigt. Breite 17 cm, Gewicht 201 g.
Seit 1697 herrschte Friedrich August I. der Starke (1670 - 1733) als König August II. in Personalunion über das wettinische Kurfürstentum Sachsen und die Wahlmonarchie Polen-Litauen. Sein Sohn Friedrich August II. (1696 - 1763) bestieg 1733 nach ihm als August III. den polnischen Thron.
A silver gorget for officers of Saxony-Polonia (1697 – 1706 and 1709 - 1763), 1st half of the 18th century
Silver gorget with turned, fullered and finely fluted edge and two attachment holes. On the obverse the fire-gilt, finely chased and chiselled coat-of-arms of the King of Poland, Grand Duke of Lithuania and Elector of Saxony. On the reverse brownish patina, underneath each attachment hole punched master’s mark "HS", coat of arms attached with split pins(!) . Width 17 cm, weight 201 g.
From 1697 onwards, Frederick Augustus I the Strong (1670 – 1733) ruled both the Wettin Electorate of Saxony and the elective monarchy of Poland-Lithuania as King Augustus II. In 1733, his son Frederick Augustus II (1696 – 1763) ascended to the Polish throne after him as Augustus III.
