Lot 10 | Silberschale mit Großkönig bei Jagd, sasanidische, 4. - 5. Jhdt. n. Chr.
Flache Schale mit Ritzdekor und partiell äußerst seichtem Relief. Innerhalb einer ca. 5 mm breiten Randzone mit Vergoldungsspuren, die unten von einer rundum verlaufenden Ritzlinie abgeschlossen ist, der Großkönig zu Pferd bei der Hirschjagd. Das Pferd mit reich geschmücktem Zaumzeug und Satteldecke, der Großkönig nach hinten gewandt, einen Bogen mit angelegtem Pfeil spannend und auf eine Hirschkuh links im Feld zielend. Unter dem Pferd ein bereits erlegter Hirsch. Einzelne Partien wie der Köcher, der Bogen, die Krone, der Gürtel und das Riemenwerk am Oberkörper mit Vergoldungsspuren. Kleinere Risse und Durchbrüche im Umfeld des Kopfes des Großkönigs, Delle am unteren Rand. Partiell Inkrustationen und Oxydauflagen, vor allem auf der Unterseite. Ansonsten attraktives Stück sasanidischer Hofkunst. Durchmesser 19 cm. Höhe 4,2 cm. Dazu ein hochwertiger Metallständer.

Flat bowl with incised decoration and partially extremely shallow relief. Within an approx. 5 mm wide rim zone with traces of gilding, which is closed at the bottom by an incised line running all around, the Great King on horseback hunting deer. The horse with richly decorated bridle and saddle blanket, the Great King facing backwards, drawing a bow and an arrow and aiming at a hind in the field on the left. Under the horse an already killed stag. Individual parts such as the quiver, the bow, the crown, the belt and the strapwork on the upper part of the body with traces of gilding. Smaller cracks and punctures around the head of the Great King, dent at the lower rim. Partial incrustations and oxide deposits, especially on the underside. Otherwise an attractive piece of Sasanian court art. Diameter 19 cm. Height 4.2 cm. Comes with a high-quality metal stand.
