Technique: Pigments on very thin mica sheet. Supported by yellowish cardboard, framed behind glass.
Measurement: Each 10 x 7cm, frames 25 x 21cm.
Condition A/B.
The unusual painting surface consists of extremely thin, transparent slices of mica, a stone belonging to the phyllosilicate family. The painting was built up like a reverse painting on glass in layers from the finest details to the basic colors covering the figure. In each case only the figures are painted, the background is a cardboard.

-The collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London includes mica paintings of the Company-School. According to one estimate, there are no more than 7,000 of these existing in the world.
