Cap helmet with a knob. Decorated bronze sheet calotte chased of a single piece. A cast knob in the centre of the crest, indented at the sides. Inside a tube, broadly extended at the bottom, with a bulging rim lip at the top. Attached to the calotte from the underside with a rivet. The thick wall of the pommel is provided with two opposite holes in the longitudinal direction, by means of which a helmet decoration could be attached in the tube.
The lower section of the calotte, about 9 cm high, almost vertical and tapering only minimally upwards. Approx. 1 cm above the smooth rim, a series of inward piercings at intervals of approx. 2.5 cm. Rivets still preserved in four of these punctures. On the outside a flat rivet head over a washer (three still preserved), on the inside the mandrel bent to the side and bent into a loop.
Above the smooth rim with piercings four horizontal coils running all around, above them after about 2 cm six more similar coils. Above this section the slightly curved cover of the calotte with eight circular segments terminated at the top by four curved coils. Splendid dark green patina, which partially allows the metallic background to shine through. Diameter at the rim 22 x 18 cm. Height approx. 15,5 cm. Almost perfectly preserved splendid specimen.
