SPLENDID MARBLE AND BRONZE PENDULUM CLOCK AND PAIR OF AGATE VASES.

Date: Around 1880.
Technique: White marble, gilt bronze applications. Enamel dial.
Description: Two five-armed girandoles with rich vegetal décor and ram heads. One pendulum clock with
rectangular case, three sides glassed, vase shaped finial. Pendulum case also richly
decorated with floral bronze appliqués. Enamelled dial with Arabic hours and minute track.
Pendulum movement with hour strike and half hour strike on bronze bell. Parisian-type
locking plate striking mechanism, reversing hook escapement, Brocot pendulum spring
suspension with regulator.
Measurement: Height pendulum clock 70cm, height girandoles 67cm.
Mark: Japy Frères Medaille d'honneur.

Pendulum: - Overall with age-typical rubbing and fine superficial scratches as well as some soiling as wax from candles for example. - The movement functional, but in need of revision. - The key is new, but fits. - Enamel dial damaged at 12 o'clock. - Appliqués loose in places or some of the leaves of the finial broken off and enclosed. - Base of vase damaged and visibly glued. Pair of top vases: - Overall with age-typical rubbing and fine superficial scratches as well as some soiling. - Some wax residues in the spouts due to use.
