Die Glocke mit matter luftwaffengrauer Lackierung und zu über 95 % erhaltenem Adleremblem. Innenseitige Schlagstempelung "ET" für die Eisenhüttenwerke in Thale mit Größenangabe "68" sowie Chargennummer "4895". Frühe Zweilochschrauben mit Lüftungsloch. Gelochtes braunes Lederfutter mit Stempelung "Baumuster: Heisler, Berlin C2 - Hersteller Schubert-Werk, Braunschweig - Kopfgröße: 58 - Stahlhelmgröße: 68", handschriftlichen Trägernamen und "Kreta Mai 1941" sowie Namensstempelung (Sammler ?). Der leicht verzogene Aluminiumring mit Resten der Unterfütterung, die Leichtgummipolsterung zum Helmrand hin entfernt. Futter und Beriemung mit sichtlichen Tragespuren und Fehlstellen.

The skull with the matt, Luftwaffe grey lacquer, over 95% of the eagle emblem preserved. The maker's stamp "ET" (Thale Iron Works) on the inside, along with the size "68" and the batch number "4895". Early two-hole screws with a ventilation hole. The perforated brown leather liner stamped "Baumuster: Heisler, Berlin C2 - Hersteller Schubert-Werk, Braunschweig - Kopfgröße: 58 - Stahlhelmgröße: 68", handwritten wearer's name and "Kreta Mai 1941", plus a name stamp (perhaps the collector ?).
The slightly warped aluminium ring with remnants of the lining, the light rubber padding removed towards the edge of the helmet. The liner and straps with visible signs of wear and defects.
