Gezogener Oktagonlauf im Kaliber 15 mm, Seele etwas rau mit gutem Zug-/Feldprofil, auf der Oberseite im Bereich der Mündung und über der Kammer reich floral geschnitten und vergoldet, über der Kammer das württembergische Wappen in Gold (später?), Brünierung des Laufes mglw. neuzeitlich. En suite geschnittenes und vergoldetes Steinschloss, auf der Schlossplatte vergoldetes Banderol mit Signatur. Stecherabzug. Fein verschnittener Vollschaft mit vergoldeter, reliefierter und gravierter Garnitur mit Dekor aus Rocaillen, floralen Ornamenten und jagdlichen Szenen. Hölzerner Ladestock mit Messingdopper. Länge 119 cm.
Außerordentlich kunstvoll gearbeitete und elegante Büchse.
Philipp Daniel Dargent (1690 - 1791) war ab 1729 Hofbüchsenmacher und Nachfolger des Tobias Renner (vgl. Der Neue Stöckel, Bd. 1, S. 268).
A German flintlock rifle by Philipp Daniel Dargent, Ludwigsburg, circa 1760
Grooved octagonal barrel in 15 mm calibre, bore somewhat rough with good rifling, the upper side near the muzzle and breech gilt and richly decorated with flower ornaments, at the breech the Württemberg coat-of-arms in gold (later?), burnishing of the barrel possibly contemporary. Flintlock gilt and cut en suite, on the lock plate gilt banner with signature. Set trigger. Finely carved full stock with gilt and engraved furniture decorated in relief with rocailles, flower ornaments and hunting scenes. Wooden ramrod with brass tip. Length 119 cm.

Philipp Daniel Dargent (1690 – 1791) was gunsmith to the court from 1729 onwards and successor of Tobias Renner (cf. Der Neue Stöckel, vol. 1, p. 268).
