Dreikantklinge mit Hohlschliff und Vernickelung, in der oberen Hälfte allseitig dichte Zierätzungen aus Ranken und Trophäen, quartseitig die Lieferantensignatur "M. Neumann, Hoflieferant Berlin". Vergoldetes Buntmetall-Bügelgefäß (berieben) mit herzförmigem Stichblatt (Quartseite abklappbar), gebauchter Griff mit silberner Drahtwicklung. Dreikantige braune Lederscheide (etwas berieben) mit Buntmetallbeschlägen (Vergoldungsspuren), am Mundblech ein Tragehaken. Klingenspitze leicht aus der Form (reparabel), Trage- und Altersspuren. Länge 94 cm.
Seltene Waffe in ungewöhnlicher, authentischer Ausführung und schöner Erhaltung.
A thrusting sword for officers of mounted rifles regiments in special design, circa 1900
Fullered, nickel-plated blade of triangular section, the upper half profusely covered with decorative etchings depicting tendrils and trophies on all sides, the reverse with purveyor’s signature (tr.) "M. Neumann, court purveyor Berlin". Gilt knuckle-bow hilt of non-ferrous metal (rubbed) with heart-shaped guard plate (the reverse foldable), curved grip with silver wire wrap. Brown leather scabbard of triangular section (somewhat rubbed) with fittings of non-ferrous metal (traces of gilding), the locket with suspension hook. The point of the blade slightly out of shape (repairable), traces of wear and age. Length 94 cm.
Rare weapon in singular authentic version and beautiful state of preservation.
