Lot 4056 | Pocket watch: very attractive, large 3-compartment housing Spindeluhr for the Ottoman market to 1700/1844, William Fawcett, Dublin (1638-CA. 1710)
Approx. 75mm, approx. 276g, 3-fold case silver and tortoiseshell, excellent quality, made for the Ottoman market, English Hallmarks 1844, the factory much earlier, probably around 1700, signed William Fawcett, Dublin, No. 105, spindle inhibition, magnificent work of decoration clamp with a Grimace, out of the ordinary, probably original dial, and probably the original pointer, matching a key from around 1700 or earlier, it is functional, the interior of the housing close properly. The very interesting and early Irish Spindle received in 1844, is obviously a new case, typical of the English watches that were intended for the Ottoman market.
