Pocket watch: early English pocket watch with self-strike, Robert Newman London No.7, ca. 1720
Ca. Ø57mm, approx. 185g, pierced, gilt case, bell, signed original dome, dome and plate signed and numbered No.7, magnificently decorated barrel, Egyptian pillars, hour self strike, champleve dial, iron hands, dial signature refreshed, intact, cleaning recommended. Robert Newman was already active in London before 1721. According to our research, this is the earliest pocket watch by him that is known to have survived.
