Birthday of Emanuel Nobel was. Emanuel Nobel (* 23. June 1859 in Sankt Petersburg; † 31. May 1932 in Sweden) was a Swedish-Russian oil Magnate. He was a grandson of Immanuel Nobel and the eldest son of Ludvig Nobel, brother of Alfred Nobel. The Nobel family was one of the richest in Europe and in the world. Emanuel Nobel took over the management of the largest European oil Company Branobel, based in Baku after the death of his father in 1888. Similar to the one that Emanuel was a very progressive entrepreneur, and decided on the construction of the first Pipeline in Russia, as well as the world's first oil Tanker. Emanuel Nobel was a great lover of art, but the majority of his in Russia, left behind collection was destroyed in the winter war of 1940. (Source: https://www.cortrie.de/go/2B1). The year 1909 was a special year for him. He celebrated his 50. Birthday and the 30-year anniversary. Presumably, these two events were the occasion to give this unique and extremely valuable watch in order. Nikolai Linden opened his shop for fine jewels and watches in St. Petersburg in 1892. He worked closely with Faberge and moved his finest works from Switzerland, for example, Audemars Freres. It is known that he supplied both the Russian Imperial house, as well as the king of Romania and the king of Bulgaria.
