Ca. Ø55mm, ca. 155g, typisches Arnold Silbergehäuse, nach beiden Seiten aufklappbar, Londoner Hallmarks 1810, innen vergoldet, wunderschönes, originales John Arnold & Son Werk mit durchbrochen gearbeiteten Kloben, Diamantdeckstein, zylindrischer Spirale und Arnold's Feder-Chronometerhemmung, Platine signiert John Arnold & Son London No. 20/1020 invenit et fecit, Emaillezifferblatt, Goldzeiger, sehr guter Zustand, funktionstüchtig. Provenienz: Sotheby's 1977, gelistet und wie hier vorliegend beschrieben in Hans Staeger: "100 Jahre Präzisionsuhren von John Arnold bis Arnold & Frodsham, 1763-1862". Da das Werk auf 1797 datiert wird, ist anzunehmen, dass die Uhr bereits 1810 bei Arnold modernisiert wurde. J.R. Arnold entschied sich offensichtlich dafür, die originale Federchronometerhemmung beizubehalten, das Werk wurde aber mit der damals neuartigen Pennington-Unruh ausgestattet, in diesem Fall in einer besonders schweren und hochwertigen Ausführung. Ein sehr interessantes Taschenchronometer, an dem sich die Evolution der Modernisierungen durch Arnolds Sohn, John Roger Arnold, gut erkennen lässt. Nach heutigem Kenntnisstand sind lediglich 6 dieser Arnold Chronometer der sog. III. Serie bekannt.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
