Ø54mm, approx. 182g!, extremely heavy hunting case watch with typical decoration for the Oriental market, back with spiral of leaves and flowers, on the face a wreath, half laurel, half oak leaf, owner's engraving Mufti Mohammed Baqar, London Hallmarks from 1884, dome with English royal coat of arms and designation as watchmaker to the Royal Observatory, signature John Bennett London, case and movement with matching number 1458, typical English precision lever movement, signed and numbered, 8 complications, perpetual calendar, moon phase and moon age, chronograph and minute repeater, original enamel dial, gold hands, in working order, in good condition, very rare and highly complicated English collector's watch, plate with old restoration. Sir John Bennett (15 October 1814 - 3 July 1897) was an English watchmaker and was appointed Royal Chronometer Maker. As the eldest son of watchmaker John Bennett from Greenwich, he was educated at Colfe's Grammar School in Lewisham. In 1846 he set up his own business as a watchmaker at 65 Cheapside in the City of London . The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
