China. Qing Dynasty. Early to mid-19th century. Century

Pile of wool, warp and weft cotton. The carpet is in the Central part with white crane medallions between clouds in Blue and
Yellow patterned. A narrow inner braid, with flowers, the exterior with Vajra. The cross
aligned patterning and the extraordinary dimensions suggest that this carpet
in a Buddhist temple as a valance or as a Casing for a cross-beam
has been used. 502x76cm. Condition A/B.
