DOYLE, Arthur Conan (1859-1930). The Hound of the Baskervilles. London: Geroge Newnes, 1902. A fine, bright copy of the first edition in book form of arguably the most famous detective novel. The first issue with misprint "you" for "your" on page 13. This literary return was described by Doyle as the "inevitable relapse after repentance." Green & Gibson A26. Octavo (183 x 115m). Frontispiece and 15 plates, illustrated by Sidney Paget. Original pictorial cloth stamped in gilt and black (slightest fading and lean to spine). Provenance: Christopher Clark Guest (bookplate).
