First edition, first impression in the extremely rare dust-jacket. We can trace just one copy in the jacket in auction records. The first impression is lacking the full stop after the roman numerals on the title page as called for by McIlvaine. All 18 stories had previously been serialised in The Strand Magazine between December 1921 and November 1922, and one, 'Jeeves and the Chump Cyril', earlier in August 1918. The bookmarks Wodehouse's second collection of Jeeves stories and features, alongside the dynamic double-act, the character of Bingo Little. McIlvaine A30a 1; McIlvaine, Sherby and Heineman, P.G. Wodehouse: A comprehensive bibliography and checklist, pp. 41-42.
