First edition in an exceptionally bright dust-jacket. This collection of short stories, the author’s third, centres on the mysterious Harley Quin, who Agatha Christie stated in her Autobiography (1977) was her favourite character along with Quin’s ‘emissary’ Mr Satterthwaite. Hubin, p. 80.
Octavo. (Minor marks to upper pastedown, a little light scattered spotting, more to final few leaves.) Original black cloth, upper cover lettered in red within single red fillet border, spine lettered in red (spine ends slightly bumped, extremities a trifle rubbed); original dust-jacket (very slight creasing at head and foot of spine, short closed tear and crease to foot of lower panel).
