The most limited of the limited editions: each is one of only 20 copies printed on large japanese vellum, bound in full vellum, and signed by both the author and the illustrator on the limitation leaves. This is a complete set; When We Were Very Young was never published in this ultra-deluxe format. Not only is this the rarest of the limited editions, it is also the most beautiful and elaborate production. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first complete set of this edition to ever be offered at auction.



1. Winnie-the-Pooh. 1926. No. 7 of 20 copies.

2. Now We Are Six. 1927. Presentation copy, inscribed by E.H. Shepard for C.W. Chamberlain on the limitation leaf and deliberately unnumbered. Provenance: C.W. Chamberlain Esquire (presentation inscription) – Mary Duke Trent (bookplate, her sale, Christie’s New York, 6 December 2013, lot 169).

3. The House at Pooh Corner: No. 15 of 20 copies.



Together, three volumes, quarto (230 x 174). Half-titles. Mostly unopened. Illustrations by E.H. Shepard; folding map in Winnie-the-Pooh. Original vellum lettered in gilt, yapp edges (boards very slightly bowed on two titles, first title with toning to both pages and vellum and a little blistering to hinges). Custom boxes.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
